A joint camp is a preoperative educational session where you are given information regarding your joint condition and the surgery to take place, along with general instructions that will help you have a smooth surgery and recovery.
You will be informed about what you need to bring on the day of the surgery, clinic formalities that you would have to fulfill, what you can expect on the day of surgery, the recovery process, postoperative care, pain management, and rehabilitation exercises.
You are advised to attend the camp with a family member or caretaker.
Location for the joint camp: 4th floor conference room, Avera regional medical center
Time: Every Thursday between 2-4 pm
The multidisciplinary Joint Camp team includes dedicated anesthetists, pharmacists, physical therapists, and clinical nurses and case managers.
Teaching team: Anesthetists, pharmacist, physical therapist, Clinic Nurse, Case manager
